Professional Licensure Disclosure

All of the Radiation Sciences programs (Diagnostic Medical Sonography*, Radiation Therapy, Radiography & Nuclear Medicine) do meet the educational requirements for licensure if you are located in Virginia or will be residing in Virginia at the time of enrollment.

Please be aware that licensure and certification requirements vary by state and territory and may change at any time. Many licensed or certified professions are regulated by state or territorial boards that typically establish specific educational requirements. As a result, some VCU programs leading to professional licensure or certification may not meet the requirements in all states or territories. Students should research the licensure requirements of the state or territory where they plan to practice to stay informed about any changes in licensure requirements.

For more information for the states and territories where the program does meet the educational requirements for licensure and the university's student attestation process, please visit the Academic Affairs Professional licensure disclosures page. If you have questions about the program's current curriculum or satisfaction of a specific requirement, you may contact Melanie Dempsey at mcdempsey@vcu.edu for assistance.

*Currently, the Commonwealth of Virginia does NOT require licensure for sonographers
